One of the most important ways to ensure a successful weight loss through a Low Carb Diet Plans that is low on carbohydrates is by devising your personal food plan. Although there are many low carb food plans on the Internet, it is still advisable to customize the plan to your needs and preferences. If you just follow what is on the book or on articles from the World Wide Web, you may not be able to go ahead or stick with it on the long haul because they may contain some type of foods that you abhor.

In the recent years, there have been a huge increase in diet programs whose main goal is to drastically lower the intake of carbohydrates. Some of the more popular low carb programs are the South Beach, Atkin's, Sonoma, and the Stone Age (or Cave Man) Diet.

The South Beach, which is a structured low carb diet plan that has three phases, encourages individuals to personally determine the effect of carbohydrates and certain food on their bodies.

The Atkin's diet is a two-phase program that aims to dramatically reduce the intake of carbohydrates, which is believed to be the main cause of weight gain, and discover a person's own carbohydrate tolerance level.

The Sonoma Diet is very similar to South Beach because it also has three phases, which are called waves. The focus of this diet, however, is more on the Mediterranean type of diet.

The Stone Age diet is the simplest but most restrictive of all the reduced-carbohydrate diet plans mentioned above. The objective of the diet is to follow the eating habits of our Paleolithic ancestors and eliminate all the types of food that are not available during the time of the cavemen. Thus, you are eliminating in your low carb diet plan almost 66% of the food available in the market today, including processed foods, refined sugar, and even small grains.
